The term Lesbigay (or LesBiGay) is used to describe the Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual community.
Although the three communities are not necessarily linked, there is often a shared perspective both from, and on the rest of society towards them.
Lesbigay communities often include transgendered and intersexual people, who (although not necessarily being anything other than heterosexual) identify with the issues and complexities faced by lesbian, gays and bisexuals. This has led to some Lesbigay groups referring to themselves using the acronym LGBTI, to include the TG and Intersexual community, or LGBTU, to include transgendered and undefined people.
